In 2004, Thompson Industries reaffirmed a long-standing commitment to quality operations by listening to their customers for the purpose of identifying the specific needs of the railroad product markets. In response to this challenge, Thompson is undertaking an aggressive three-fold capacity expansion project that involves installation of two additional large pressure treating vessels along with other state-of-the-art process improvements. The company’s aggressive expansion project is a vital part of our long-range business plan and will enable us to continue to meet the growing demand for the economically-priced, long lasting treated wood products needed to support the world’s rail network. Mr. E.A. Thompson, the company’s founder and inventor of Thompson’s WATERSEAL, purchased the Russellville property that is now the Thompson Industrial Park in 1978. Thompson Industries was formed to continue the treated wood manufacturing part of the company after the sale of the WATERSEAL product line in 1981. Mr. Thompson’s business philosophy and vision was always centered on consistent improvement of products in support of the customer, and Thompson Industries remains dedicated to that progressive attitude to this day.
